MATIGOL FALLS
Sitio Matigol, Brgy. Datu Ladayon, Arakan Valley, North Cotabato
This 500-meter waterfall will surely take your breath away. You’ll surely enjoy its natural pools where you can take a dip in it’s gentle and cold waters.
The trail from Sitio Matigol is mesmerizing up to the falls base. It’s kinda easy, though mostly descending. You’ll find it hard when it’s wet because of the mud. Anyway, every step and every ridge is picturesque, so, prepare your cameras. The trail would consume an hour before you could start to see the falls magnificence.
There’s is a hut adjacent to the falls base that serves as a reception. You may enjoy the floor before you start to climb the toughest trail to the top of the falls where you can take a dip. It will surely need strength and proper endurance as you will be climbing.
Also, there’s a white rooster there, so, be kind to it. It is not a guard or what that superstitious believe to be. The local folks intentionally put it there.
How to get there:
If you’re bound for Davao or from Davao, drop off at Kampo Uno, Katipunan, Arakan. Bus driver/conductor is very familiar to it. Then, a motorcycle ride to Sitio Matigol
